second Business Events Leaders’ Summit in Scotland on Wednesday and
Thursday 18th and 19th March 2020.

The core event themes of how business events can create lasting economic
and social impacts will be enhanced by a focus on Technology Events. This
fast-growing sector is disrupting the market and bypassing accepted
industry channels.

The inaugural BELS conference in 2018 brought together Leaders in the
Business Events and MICE markets and Key Economic Sector Heads and
international speakers from Australia, Singapore and Ireland – where close
cooperation between conventions organisers and economic sectors is

The format of this year’s Business Events Leaders’ Summit (BELS 2020) will
see the event spread across two half days. Commencing Wednesday 18th
March with a reception followed by a working dinner where all delegates
will work in teams to respond to the brief from the
Chair.

The outputs from the dinner conversations will be discussed and debated in
the morning plenary sessions on Thursday 19th March.

This event is for meetings industry (MICE) professionals of a senior
standing in their organisation, be it a Destination Management
Organisation (DMO), PCO (Professional Conference Organiser), Convention
Bureaux, Hoteliers (General Manager or Sales Director level), Conference
Venues, Educators, Event Directors and Directors of Multinationals alike
who are engaged in the supply of services to the Events Sector e.g.
Teambuilding , Event Tech, Catering, Travel/Transport, Theming and Trade
Bodies which represent the Industry. In addition, the conference is for
Economic Development Specialists, Private and Public Sector Bodies which
support national and regional priority Industry Sectors, and Directors of
Companies which operate in Scotland’s Growth Industries.
